Job summary

AVER, LLC seeks an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise BI solutions, dashboards, and custom reporting across complex data landscapes. You will work across data modeling, ETL/ELT, reporting architecture, and database integration to deliver scalable analytics.

The role requires advanced Power BI, strong SQL, and experience with Python, AWS, Azure, and Databricks to modernize legacy reporting and improve access to mission-critical information.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting development, database development, or related technical disciplines, including significant hands-on Power BI development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards, interactive reports, semantic models, and custom reporting solutions supporting complex business requirements.
• Develop advanced Power BI reports using DAX, Power Query (M), Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Service, including complex calculations, measures, data transformations, and visualizations.
• Design and optimize Power BI semantic models, including relationships, star schemas, dimensional modeling, and performance optimization.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database interactions across Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other relational database platforms.
• Integrate and transform data from multiple enterprise systems, relational databases, APIs, cloud data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse environments.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using SQL, Python, Power Query, and other data integration technologies.
• Create customized, user‑friendly dashboards and reporting interfaces that consolidate data from disparate sources into actionable insights.
• Develop paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder and SSRS, as required.
• Leverage Python for data processing, scripting, automation, data validation, and integration with enterprise reporting solutions.
• Integrate Power BI with SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, and other enterprise apps to improve reporting accessibility.
• Develop reporting solutions that access cloud‑based analytics platforms, including AWS Redshift, Databricks, and Azure data environments.
• Configure and manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, data refresh schedules, gateways, deployment pipelines, and reporting environments.
• Implement data security and governance controls, including RLS and workspace permissions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize complex reporting, database, data transformation, and performance issues.
• Support modernization of legacy reporting applications and migration to Power BI.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, DBAs, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Explore opportunities to leverage AI analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and emerging technologies.
• Participate in requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support.
