Job summary

Essent Group Ltd. in Radnor, PA, seeks a Senior Power BI Data Architect to design enterprise-scale analytics and self-service semantic models in Power BI. You will leverage a Kimball-style data warehouse on AWS Redshift and drive governance, performance, and security.

You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver reliable analytics, mentor IT staff, and promote best practices in data modeling and reporting across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, or related field.
• 5+ years in BI architecture and data engineering, 10+ years IT overall.
• Power BI with DAX, Power Query, and advanced data modeling.
• Relational databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Redshift.
• AWS cloud architecture, services, and RDS.
• Experience with data governance tools like Informatica IDMC Cloud Data Catalog and Governance.
• Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop scalable enterprise semantic models for Power BI analytics.
• Ingest, transform, and prepare data with ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Implement data governance, access controls, and security policies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into BI solutions.
• Optimize Power BI reports, datasets, and DAX for performance.
• Monitor workloads and CI/CD deployments.
• Lead metadata management, data lineage, and data quality efforts.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT staff and business users.
• Support enterprise reporting strategies with scalable analytics platforms.
