Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Power Generation Availability Engineer to lead availability modeling for data center power systems, spanning generation sources and energy storage.

You will influence cross-functional teams and drive decisions affecting AWS global infrastructure. You will evaluate designs, create line diagrams, and work with stakeholders to ensure safety, availability, cost, and sustainability goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities.
• Experience with availability modeling software (ReliaSoft or similar).
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and electrical drawings.
• Experience with data analysis for outage metrics (MTBF/MTTR).
• Knowledge of data center power distribution and generation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Developing availability models for multiple power generation sources for data centers.
• Support development of power generation configurations for primary, temporary, or backup power.
• Interpret SLDs, drawings, submittals, and equipment specifications.
• Provide design feedback to engineering teams for data center projects.
• Evaluate grid interconnection standards and microgrid designs.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across regions and teams.
