Job summary

Conair, part of the PiovanGroup, is seeking a Powder Coating Technician for our Franklin, Pennsylvania plant. The role covers all aspects of the powder coating process, including surface prep, powder application, curing, material movement, and powder inventory.

You will report to the Fabrication Supervisor and maintain the production schedule in SAP, manage color changes, inspect coatings, and ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of powder coating experience.
• Proficient in computer scheduling.
• Strong ability to recognize defects in coated products.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand long periods.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the powder coating production schedule in SAP.
• Clean, degrease, and mask parts before coating.
• Organize loading/unloading parts onto conveyor hooks or racks.
• Manage color changes and prevent contamination.
• Adjust air pressure, fluidization, and feed rates on coating equipment.
• Monitor baking and curing oven temperatures for proper paint cross-linking.
• Inspect finished components for runs, bubbles, thin spots, or contamination using mil thickness gauges and color match equipment.
• Maintain safety compliance and properly store hazardous materials.
• Organize and maintain the inventory of powder required for the production schedule.
• Ownership of the quality of coated parts and the coating process.
• Other duties as assigned.
