Job summary

Ethereum Technologies is seeking a Database Administrator on our Enterprise Data team with a focus on PostgreSQL and SQL Server. You will be responsible for the installation, patching, security, and capacity management of PostgreSQL and SQL Server database management systems for the enterprise.

Key duties include monitoring day-to-day operations of production and non-production environments, responding to alerts, and developing robust procedures for backup, recovery, and automation.

Qualifications

• Requires PostgreSQL DBA experience, preferably with EDB.
• Requires SQL Server DBA experience.
• Experience with scripting languages for automation.

Responsibilities

• Monitors day-to-day production and non-production database systems to ensure smooth operation of all environments.
• Responds to automated alerts to maintain integrity and stability of database systems.
• Develops and maintains work instructions for enterprise database systems training.
• Develops processes to monitor performance and integrity including backup and recovery and automation of routine tasks.
• Evaluates and oversees implementation of new database technologies and their integration into the landscape.
• Ensures business recovery and disaster recovery processes are developed and maintained.
• Provides technical assistance to internal and external users of the databases.
• On-call support 24x7 on a monthly rotation.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (BASH, KSH, PowerShell, Python or Perl); supports MS Windows Server or Unix environments.
• Performance tuning for OLTP and Data Warehouse; experience with backups, HA solutions, and cloud migration.
• Ability to work autonomously and coordinate with multiple teams; strong communication skills and problem-solving.
