Job summary

Custom Business Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator on our Enterprise Data team to manage PostgreSQL and SQL Server systems across the enterprise. The role focuses on installation, patching, security, and capacity planning with 3+ years of experience.

You will monitor production and non-production environments, automate maintenance, implement DR strategies, and collaborate with multiple teams to optimize performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience managing PostgreSQL (EDB preferred) and SQL Server databases.
• Experience with Windows or Unix environments for DB maintenance.
• Proficiency in scripting for automating maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Monitors day-to-day activity of production and non-production databases to ensure smooth operation.
• Creates and responds to automated alerts to maintain integrity and stability of databases.
• Develops and maintains DB operation work instructions for the team.
• Develops processes for backup, recovery, and automation of routine maintenance activities.
• Evaluates and oversees implementation of new database technologies for enterprise integration.
• Ensures business continuity and disaster recovery processes are maintained.
• Provides technical assistance to internal and external users of databases.
• 24x7 on-call support shared with team on a monthly rotation.
