Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain complex SQL databases and ETL processes for a mission-critical CBP program. You will work with data analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure data integrity and optimized performance.

The role requires strong SQL, PL/SQL/SQL optimization, experience with ETL tools, and a background in Agile development. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a CBP background investigation are required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree and 8 years of related experience or Master’s with 6 years of related experience; OR 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree
• 5+ years of experience in SQL development in PostgreSQL and Oracle
• Must be able to obtain a CBP Background Investigation before start
• Must be a US citizen
• Experience working with AI/ML as part of software lifecycle or to support mission
• Advanced proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
• Experience supporting a high-performing, mission-critical production system
• Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes
• Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and indexing
• Experience with data security and compliance requirements
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
• Optimize and tune SQL queries for performance and scalability
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to support data integration and migration efforts
• Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with DHS and federal standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
• Document database processes, structures, and procedures
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers
