FinQuery is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead hands-on PostgreSQL administration on AWS, optimize performance, and guide data architecture strategy. You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with engineering leadership, and drive AI-driven improvements to scale our subledger-like systems.

Qualifications

• Relational databases and data architecture built through work, school, internships, or projects.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling databases.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor AWS PostgreSQL databases with reliable performance.
• Lead performance optimization and resolve complex bottlenecks.
• Collaborate daily with development and other teams to ensure alignment.
• Review and approve data architecture changes with guidance.
• Investigate query performance issues and optimize schemas and queries.
• Participate in release and deployment processes for production readiness.
• Automate manual tasks and improve data delivery and scaling efforts.
• Use AI agents and LLM-powered tools to streamline analysis and documentation.
• Maintain and optimize RDS systems day-to-day.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to grow technical skills and share knowledge.
