Job summary

Blue Ribbon Global Technologies seeks an experienced Postgres DBA to optimize and manage AWS Aurora deployments across production environments. You will be hands-on, tuning queries, planning backups, and ensuring peak performance.

You'll collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate complex data needs into scalable solutions, helping clients achieve real-time insights. Remote start with eventual onsite work at our Pittsburgh office.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience with Postgres.
• Advanced knowledge of Postgres configuration, management and optimization.
• Experience analyzing query performance and tuning.
• Experience with AWS Amazon Aurora is highly desired.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintains AWS Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL performance by tuning parameters and applying updates.
• Perform configuration, upgrade, monitoring and other database administration tasks.
• Develop techniques for large-scale optimization including indexing and data preprocessing.
• Establish best practices to manage all Postgres environments consistently.
• Collaborate with users and SMEs to design optimal data architectures and communicate results clearly.
• Define database structure, security, backup, and recovery specifications.
• Maintain quality service by enforcing standards.
