Job summary

Renesas Electronics is seeking a Post Silicon Hardware Validation Staff Engineer to characterize and validate next-generation high‑speed memory interface silicon. The role is hands-on in a lab, focusing on electrical measurements, silicon bring-up, signal integrity, and debugging of high-speed mixed‑signal devices.

The ideal candidate will perform bench validation, drive hardware-based debugging from first silicon to production, and work with cross‑functional teams to ensure silicon performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 8+ years of hands-on laboratory experience validating high-speed semiconductor devices.
• Strong background in high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits, hardware validation, and silicon characterization.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, BERTs, high-speed probing, and SI measurements.

Responsibilities

• Perform bench validation and electrical characterization of high-speed mixed-signal memory interface devices.
• Execute silicon bring-up from first silicon through production release.
• Measure critical electrical, timing, jitter, voltage, and SI parameters.
• Use advanced lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, BERTs, pattern generators, network analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies).
• Collaborate with Analog, Mixed-Signal, Digital, SI/PI, Package, and Product teams.
