Job summary

Kforce has a client in need of a Senior POS Systems Engineer to lead engineering and support for enterprise retail POS applications and integrations. You will troubleshoot complex POS issues across applications, interfaces, payments, and hardware, design new POS capabilities, and partner with vendors to drive technical initiatives while supporting loyalty, analytics, and loss prevention initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years maintaining enterprise POS systems.
• Strong knowledge of modern POS applications and their integration with internal systems.
• Experience troubleshooting complex application and integration issues across end-to-end transaction flows.
• Knowledge of retail payment processing technologies and integrations preferred.
• Experience working with POS vendors and managing technical issues and platform capabilities.

• Lead technical engineering and support for enterprise retail POS applications and related integrations
• Troubleshoot complex POS issues across applications, interfaces, payments, hardware, and connected business systems
• Design, enhance, and implement new POS functionality and capabilities across the retail environment
• Serve as a senior technical resource for POS architecture, application workflows, and end-to-end integrations
• Partner with third-party vendors to resolve issues, evaluate platform capabilities, and drive technical initiatives
• Support and enhance payment processing functionality within the POS ecosystem
• Contribute to initiatives involving loyalty programs, incentives, loss prevention, business intelligence, and other emerging retail technologies
• Identify opportunities to improve POS reliability, scalability, supportability, and overall functionality
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to other members of the POS team

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting or engineering enterprise retail POS systems
• Strong knowledge of modern POS applications and their integration with internal business systems
• Experience troubleshooting complex application and integration issues across end-to-end transaction flows
• Knowledge of retail payment processing technologies, platforms, and integrations strongly preferred
• Experience working with POS vendors and managing technical issues, enhancements, and platform capabilities
• Understanding of retail POS hardware, software, interfaces, and supporting technologies
• Experience with loyalty, incentives, loss prevention, camera integrations, or retail analytics is a plus
• Ability to independently own technical initiatives and operate effectively in a hands-on engineering environment
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
