Remote, U.S. | Full-time| Reports to VP of Marketing
The Opportunity
Columbia Home Services is seeking a commercially minded senior marketing leader to own marketing strategy, planning, investment and results for a portfolio of approximately six HVAC, plumbing and electrical operating companies (OpCos). As the primary marketing partner to local and regional leadership, you will translate revenue and profitability objectives into integrated demand forecasts and marketing programs that deliver qualified leads, profitable jobs and sustainable growth.
This is a senior individual-contributor role with significant autonomy and cross-functional leadership responsibility. You will lead through agencies, vendors, internal channel experts and OpCo teams, while remaining hands-on in planning, campaign development, execution and performance management.
What You Will Own
- Integrated demand planning: Lead development of the complete lead forecast for each OpCo with the VP of Marketing, CFO, General Managers and Regional President. Model demand by trade, source and period using revenue and profit targets, seasonality, average tickets, booking and sales conversion, service mix and operating capacity.
- Marketing demand accountability: Translate the total demand plan into marketing-sourced lead volume, quality and acquisition-efficiency targets. Forecast nonmarketing sources (such as outbound sales and technician-generated leads) in partnership with operators, without owning their delivery.
- Marketing-sourced growth and profitability: Deliver marketing-sourced demand and drive its revenue and profit contribution; assess performance through qualified leads, booked jobs, conversion, acquisition cost, marketing-attributed revenue and job-level economics. Partner with operations on downstream conversion and margin drivers.
- Budget leadership: Build and manage OpCo marketing budgets and rolling forecasts; determine allocations across trades, channels, campaigns and seasons, communicating closely with GMs and the Regional President. Exercise day-to-day budget control within approved plans, recognizing that GMs retain ultimate P&L authority.
- Campaign strategy and execution: Own annual and quarterly marketing plans, integrated campaign calendars, creative briefs, promotional strategy, vendor coordination, launch execution and continuous optimization.
- Locally managed channels: Directly own nonspecialized channels such as direct mail, local sponsorships, outdoor advertising, lead aggregators and local reputation strategy, including vendor relationships and business results.
- Cross-functional delivery: Set priorities and coordinate the Digital Marketing & Growth Lead (paid media, SEO/GEO, web and technical aggregator support) and Marketing Operations & Lifecycle Manager (customer nurture, retention, marketing automation and automated review workflows). Functional experts own technical execution in their specialties.
- Business partnership: Serve as a trusted marketing advisor to approximately six GMs and regional leadership; lead performance reviews, surface forecast gaps early, recommend investment changes and align campaigns with trade-specific technician capacity and local market conditions.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of progressive marketing experience with direct ownership of marketing plans, budgets and measurable commercial results.
- Demonstrated success managing demand generation across multiple locations, brands, business units or geographic markets.
- Strong financial fluency: forecasting, channel allocation, customer acquisition economics, revenue attribution, and ROI/profitability analysis.
- Broad command of digital and offline marketing, with the judgment to guide channel specialists and agencies without needing to be the technical operator in every channel.
- Experience influencing senior operating leaders and coordinating vendors and cross-functional contributors without direct reporting authority.
- Excellent analytical, communication, project management and execution skills; comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on work.
Especially Valuable
- Experience in residential HVAC, plumbing, electrical or other local consumer-service businesses.
- Experience in a multi-location or private-equity-backed operating environment; familiarity with ServiceTitan or comparable field-service CRM platforms.
What Success Looks Like:
Every OpCo has a credible integrated demand forecast and an actionable marketing plan. Marketing-sourced leads meet agreed volume, quality and efficiency targets; investment adjusts quickly to trade-level capacity and performance; marketing-sourced revenue and profit contribution improve; and OpCo leaders view marketing as an accountable business partner.
Compensation:
Anticipated base salary: $105,000–$120,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits and any incentive compensation will be discussed during the recruiting process.
