Northern California Power Agency is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Manager of Portfolio and Pool Administration in the Power Management Division in Roseville, CA. You will manage a professional team overseeing forecasting, scheduling, procurement, and market participation across CAISO markets.

The ideal candidate has strong technical, analytical, and leadership capabilities with experience in wholesale electricity or natural gas markets, budgeting, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience managing professional staff
• Experience in wholesale electricity or natural gas markets
• Strong analytical skills and regulatory/commercial awareness

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop a team handling forecasting, pre-scheduling, portfolio management, procurement and market activities
• Develop procurement plans, budgets, load/resource balances and portfolio strategies
• Direct participation in CAISO and regional wholesale markets including bidding, scheduling and congestion management
• Oversee day-ahead and real-time market activities, pre-scheduling and resource scheduling
• Develop portfolio optimization strategies balancing reliability, cost, risk and regulatory requirements
• Oversee forecasting activities and ensure reliable decision support
• Manage Congestion Revenue Rights and transmission market exposure
• Lead annual and periodic budgets and communicate financial risks
• Ensure systems, models and controls support portfolio responsibilities
• Promote automation and data quality across the group
• Represent NCPA in meetings with members, market organizations and stakeholders
• Translate complex market information into actionable guidance for management and members
• Coordinate with other Power Management groups and departments
