Job summary

The Toigo Foundation seeks a Senior Portfolio Analyst to support the Investment Office in Ann Arbor. You will collect, enter, validate, and monitor investment data across multiple systems and assist with onboarding, monitoring, and offboarding of investment managers.

You will drive data quality initiatives, support system implementations, and develop reports and dashboards. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with investment data, and the ability to work with vendors and staff

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related subject.
  • Experience with investment data and systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with investment staff, external investment managers, and vendors to ensure complete, accurate, and timely investment data
  • Support investment staff with compliance with investment office policies and procedures, related work processes, and document retention policies
  • Key contributor in investment system implementation and functionality upgrade projects
  • Manage initiatives driven by Investment Operations Team to ensure on-time and within-scope delivery
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues across multiple asset classes and investment systems
  • Monitor data for accuracy, consistency, and correct mapping to multiple investment systems
  • Assist with development and maintenance of investment data management reports and dashboards
  • Develop and maintain reconciliation tools and reports that validate data health
  • Develop and maintain data maps and process flows
  • Act as a subject matter expert for one or more investment systems
  • Oversee vendor for one or more investment systems and participate in service calls
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as requested

Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Investment Operations, the Senior Portfolio Analyst is part of an internal investment operations team responsible for supporting the Investment Office. Utilizing one or more investment systems, the Senior Portfolio Analyst is responsible for the collection, entry, validation, monitoring, and quality of investment data and participation in various work processes to facilitate the onboarding, monitoring, and off boarding of investment managers. The Senior Portfolio Analyst is a key contributor in investment system implementations and other project initiatives in support of the Investment Office.

Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with investment staff, external investment managers, and vendors to ensure complete, accurate, and timely investment data
  • Support investment staff with the completion of various tasks including compliance with investment office policies and procedures, completion of related work processes, and compliance with document retention policies
  • Key contributor in investment system implementation and functionality upgrade projects
  • Manage various initiatives driven by Investment Operations Team to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within scope
  • Identify and resolve matters related to data quality that span multiple asset classes and investment systems
  • Monitor data for accuracy, consistency, and correct mapping to multiple investment systems
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of various investment data management reports and dashboards
  • Develop and maintain reconciliation tools and reports that validate and summarize data health
  • Develop and maintain data maps and process flows
  • Act as a subject matter expert for one or more investment systems
  • Oversee vendor for one or more investment systems by ensuring compliance with key performance indicators and being a key contributor during vendor service calls.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as requested

Minimum Required Experience
  • Two (2) years of investment experience in an institutional investment environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts
  • Project management work experience preferred
  • Experience working with investment systems preferred
  • Prior investment and/or investment operations experience
  • Fundamental understanding of various asset classes and investment data
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment where roles and responsibilities are evolving as new processes and procedures are implemented
  • Demonstrated self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner
Education, Professional Certifications and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related subject
  • CFA, CPA, CIPM, CAIA or other similar professional investment designation desirable
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • The physical requirements of this position are typical of office work
  • Occasional travel as required to Trust's Detroit office
  • Infrequent travel as required
