Job summary

Draper and Kramer is seeking a Portfolio Senior Accountant to prepare and review fund- and property-level financial statements, supporting work papers, reconciliations, and investor deliverables. The role is based in the Chicagoland area with a hybrid schedule (1–3 days in the Chicago office); remote work may be considered for candidates outside Chicagoland.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s in Accounting, CPA or master’s degree preferred, and strong Yardi and MS Office skills, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA designation and/or a master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of private equity real estate, open-end funds, property management accounting, or public accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Yardi and MS Office, particularly Excel, with strong Copilot skills.
• GAAP and tax accounting knowledge including ASC 946, ASC 820, and NCREIF PREA reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review fund- and property-level financial statements, supporting work papers, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Coordinate with fund administrators, investors, auditors, and internal teams.
• Train colleagues on Yardi functions and Copilot integration; support process improvements.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures to strengthen internal controls.
• Support special projects and ad hoc requests.
