Job summary

Atlantic Group in New York is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support real estate accounting across commercial mortgages, joint ventures, and financing activities. You will work directly with senior accounting leadership and investment professionals.

The role covers GL, loan and joint venture accounting, investor reporting, warehouse reporting, and audit support, with day-to-day collaboration across accounting, investment, asset management, and fund administrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience; mix of public and industry preferred.
• Experience with REITs, real estate investment firms, or related platforms is highly relevant.
• CPA or progress toward CPA designation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Real Estate Accounting: support accounting across commercial real estate loans and joint ventures.
• General Ledger & Reporting: maintain ledgers, journal entries, and monthly/quarterly reports.
• Loan Accounting: track loan activity including closings, payoffs, and modifications.
• Joint Venture Accounting: prepare reporting packages using Yardi or MRI.
• Cash & Distributions: monitor cash, AP, distributions, and reconcilations.
• Investor Reporting: assist with investor reporting and financial analysis.
• Warehouse Reporting: prepare compliance and financial reports for warehouse facilities.
• Audit Support: assist with external audits across investment vehicles.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with Accounting, Investment, and Asset Management teams.
• Process Improvement: identify issues and help improve processes as the platform grows.

Join a growing real estate finance platform in a broad accounting role supporting commercial mortgage investments, joint ventures, and financing activity. This position offers hands-on exposure to real estate accounting, financial reporting, loan activity, and investment operations while working directly with senior accounting leadership and investment professionals.

Responsibilities

• Real Estate Accounting: Support accounting across commercial real estate loans, debt facilities, joint ventures, and related investment structures.
• General Ledger & Reporting: Maintain accounting ledgers, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, and support monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Loan Accounting: Maintain loan tapes and track investment activity including loan closings, payoffs, modifications, extensions, and related transactions.
• Joint Venture Accounting: Prepare financial reporting packages for joint ventures and maintain underlying accounting records using Yardi Voyager, MRI, or similar real estate accounting systems.
• Cash & Distributions: Monitor cash positions, accounts payable, partner distributions, bank reconciliations, and other recurring cash activity.
• Investor Reporting: Assist with investor reporting, distribution models, and recurring financial analysis.
• Warehouse Reporting: Prepare compliance and financial reporting for warehouse facilities and financing counterparties.
• Audit Support: Assist with annual external audits across investment vehicles, joint ventures, and related entities.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Accounting, Investment, Asset Management, external fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other counterparties.
• Process Improvement: Proactively identify accounting and reporting issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and help improve processes as the platform continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years of accounting experience; a combination of public accounting and industry experience is preferred.
• Relevant Background: Experience within a REIT, real estate investment firm, commercial real estate platform, or public accounting firm serving real estate/REIT clients is highly relevant.
• CPA: CPA or progress toward CPA designation is strongly preferred.
• Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Systems: Experience with Yardi Voyager, MRI, or similar real estate accounting platforms is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work effectively with detailed financial and investment data.
• Attributes: Proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with investment professionals, banking counterparties, vendors, and senior management.
