Qualifications

• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section
• Three years experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist in a Sleep Disorders laboratory/center
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association and
• Must have one of the following certifications: RPSGT - Registered Polysomnographer Technologist (BRPT) or RRT-SDS - Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorder Specialty (NBRC)

Responsibilities

• Performs polysomnographic data acquisition and scoring according to guidelines
• Scores sleep studies including Home Sleep Studies
• Prepares preliminary reports for physician interpretation
• Mentors Polysomnographic Technologists and students to improve skills and patient care
• Ensures adherence to BRPT, AASM, and Houston Methodist standards for safety and quality
