Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Sr Polysomnographic Technologist to perform advanced sleep studies, score tracings, and prepare reports for physician review. The role includes mentoring technologists and contributing to program in-services while adhering to BRPT and AASM standards for patient safety and service quality.

The position requires at least three years of Polysomnographic experience, BLS, and one of BRPT or NBRC certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section
• Three years experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist in a Sleep Disorders laboratory/center
• Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to perform essential functions and ensure patient safety

Responsibilities

• Scores sleep studies and prepares preliminary reports for physician interpretation
• Performs polysomnography including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Mentors and teaches students and other technologists
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives
• Delivers exceptional patient care following BRPT, AASM, and Houston Methodist standards
