Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in either Material Science or Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of experience in Material sciences; senior level consideration for more experience.
• Expertise of wear with lubricated and non-lubricated metallic and non-metallic surfaces.
• Expertise with polymer materials solutions for reciprocating applications.
• Experience in testing polymer wear materials to estimate life.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with critical reciprocating compressor components such as pistons, cylinders, cylinder liners, heads, and crankshafts.
• Risk analysis and root cause determination with actionable feedback.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical consultant for tribology of polymer components.
• Develop and implement life cycle studies for polymer components in reciprocating product lines.
• Collaborate with suppliers of polymer compounds to enhance design capabilities.
• Establish a lab to support tribological and surface analysis development.
• Guide development engineers on material selection and simulation.
• Support material testing through inspection, analysis, and reporting of results.
• Create and follow standardized procedures for material selection and processing.
• Act as primary technical contact for suppliers and customers.
