Job summary

Prysmian is seeking an R&D Materials Senior Engineer to lead polymer compound development and scale-up for manufacturing. You will apply systematic experimental methods to evaluate performance and deliver results to the Technology team.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in industrial polymer compounding, hands-on formulation, and experience with extrusion or Banbury mixers. You will work cross-functionally, mentor technicians, and document reports to support manufacturing and sustainability

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of industrial experience in polymer compounding.
Experience with formulation optimization, compounding and process scale-up.
Knowledge of polymer morphology, rheology and structure–property relations.
Experience with polymer compounding equipment (twin-screw extrusion, Banbury).
Ideal candidate has proven track record of developing and commercializing polymer compounds.
Hands-on polymer formulation, compounding and manufacturing support essential.

Responsibilities

Lead or support cross-functional teams in production-scale compounding trials.
Drive cost reduction and performance improvements from bench to commercialization.
Investigate new polymer and additive technologies.
Improve sustainability and carbon footprint of compounds.
Coordinate lab experiments via Technical Service Requests.
Prepare technical reports and maintain records of changes.
