Job summary

Prysmian is seeking an R&D Materials Senior Engineer to lead compound development from bench to pilot scale and beyond. You will drive formulation, processing, and performance improvements for polymer compounds, coordinating lab work and scaling to manufacturing.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years in industrial polymer compounding, with hands-on use of extrusion/banbury equipment and a strong grasp of structure–property relationships. Advanced degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of industrial polymer compounding experience.
• Formulation optimization, compounding, and scale-up.
• Understanding of polymer morphology and rheology.
• Experience with compounding equipment and processing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support cross-functional teams on production-scale trials.
• Drive cost reduction and performance improvements in compounds.
• Investigate new polymer/additive technologies from suppliers.
• Identify projects to improve sustainability and carbon footprint.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain records of changes.
