Job summary

Google seeks a Trust and Safety Strategist to protect user trust across products. You will analyze content moderation trends, lead policy discussions, and coordinate with Product, Policy, and Legal teams to address complex abuse scenarios at Google speed.

You’ll work globally to reduce risk, improve product integrity, and build scalable policies. A strong data mindset and cross-functional collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment.
• Experience with data analysis and SQL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be a thought leader for legal removals issues by identifying and analyzing content moderation trends and key policy issues affecting the Google Play Store.
• Manage content operations and drive escalations of sensitive government requests, liaising with Product, Policy, Communications, and Legal teams.
• Develop and launch scalable policies and guidelines for handling large volumes of requests based on regional trends and legal issues.
• Participate in on call rotation to manage high priority escalations including weekends/holidays.
• Be comfortable around graphic, controversial, or upsetting content.

In accordance with Washington state law, we are highlighting our comprehensive benefits package, which is available to all eligible US based employees.

Minimum qualifications

You are introduced to dynamic analytical techniques and you leverage custom-built technology to have a direct impact on improving the experience of millions of Google users. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You harness your analytical and technical skills to drive tool development and process improvements.

Compensation

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $136000 - $196000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

• Be a thought leader for legal removals issues by identifying and analyzing content moderation trends and key policy issues affecting the Google Play Store. Lead discussions with cross-functional stakeholders on emerging regulations and its implications on legal removals landscape at Google.
• Manage content operations and drive escalations of sensitive government requests, by liaising with Product, Policy, Communications, and Legal teams. Balance various legal considerations in order to effectively resolve issues.
• Develop and launch scalable policies and guidelines for handling large volumes of requests, based on different regional trends and legal issues (data protection, copyright, defamation, etc.).
• Participate in the on call rotation schedule to manage high priority escalations that may occur outside of standard non work hours including weekends/holidays.
• Be comfortable around graphic, controversial, or upsetting content.
