Job summary

Google is seeking a Trust and Safety Strategist to protect the integrity of Google’s key products and user experience. You will work with cross-functional teams across global markets to fight abuse and fraud and to develop scalable policies and tools that improve product safety.

You’ll lead data-driven analyses, discuss regulatory implications with Product and Legal teams, and help shape policy in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment.
• Experience with data analysis, data tools (e.g., SQL), operations, or trend identification.
• Experience with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policy.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze content moderation trends and policy issues affecting the Google Play Store; lead discussions with cross-functional stakeholders on emerging regulations and its implications on the legal removals landscape at Google.
• Manage content operations and drive escalations of sensitive government requests by liaising with Product, Policy, Communications, and Legal teams; balance legal considerations to resolve issues.
• Develop and launch scalable policies and guidelines for handling large volumes of requests based on regional trends and legal issues (data protection, copyright, defamation).
• Participate in the on-call rotation to manage high-priority escalations outside standard hours including weekends/holidays.
• Be comfortable with graphic, controversial, or upsetting content.

As a Trust and Safety Strategist, you are responsible for protecting the integrity of some of Google's key products, including Google Search, Google Maps, Google Ads, AdSense, Google Checkout and Google Product Search. You investigate financial fraud, account-related abuse, questionable business practices, violations of Google's policies, and general misuse of our products. You are introduced to dynamic analytical techniques and you leverage custom-built technology to have a direct impact on improving the experience of millions of Google users. You subscribe to a "user-first" philosophy and are interested in improving Google's user experience and product integrity. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You harness your analytical and technical skills to drive tool development and process improvements.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $136000 - $196000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
