Job summary

The Greater Chicago Food Depository is seeking a Senior Manager of Policy to lead strategy development and execution for hunger-related policy, address racial equity, and coordinate government and advocacy efforts across its partner network.

You will work with internal teams, community partners, and policymakers to ensure policy priorities reflect community needs and are implemented effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in public policy, government relations, or advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a comprehensive policy strategy to end hunger and address root causes.
• Serve as liaison to local, state, and federal government agencies as relevant.
• Lead cross-departmental agency advocacy, training, and messaging.
• Monitor and analyze legislation affecting food insecurity and social safety nets.
• Draft policy solutions and collaborate with external organizations to effect change.
• Coordinate with Community Engagement and Government Affairs teams for grassroots alignment.
• Represent the Food Depository in coalitions and public forums.
• Prepare policy briefs, testimony, and advocacy materials.
