Job summary

Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to support the Elections Project within the Democracy Program in Washington, DC. You will develop research and advocacy priorities, focusing on election administration workforce, infrastructure, and local official needs.

The role requires strong writing, policy analysis, and experience communicating research to diverse audiences. The position offers a hybrid schedule and a path to influence bipartisan policy.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills across formats (articles, reports, memos).
  • Experience with policy research, legislative analysis, or drafting legislation.
  • Experience in election policy research is advantageous; other policy areas OK.
  • Ability to interpret complex statutory/regulatory text for policymakers.
  • Experience managing projects from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and draft reports, blogs, explainers, and memos on election administration issues.
  • Draft legislative memos and bill analyses and propose amendments aligned with policy priorities.
  • Track state and local legislation, amendments, and related activities.
  • Mentor junior team members and coordinate portions of research projects.
  • Develop internal and external meeting agendas; represent Elections Project to diverse audiences.
  • Build and maintain a network of election officials and related stakeholders.
