City of Dallas is seeking a Senior Police Report Representative to handle difficult non-emergency calls and support various departments, ensuring accurate offense coding and data entry in accordance with city, state, and national guidelines.

Applicants must pass intensive background checks and drug tests, and be available for nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. This role requires experience in law enforcement reporting and proficiency in data systems.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience in police or law enforcement roles with confidential data handling.
• Knowledge of data entry, reporting, and crime statistics processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
• Ability to apply policy and law to report processing and data entry.

Responsabilités

• Receive non-emergency calls and interview complainants to obtain information for accurate offense reports.
• Review and edit Police Officer reports for completeness and accuracy; instruct when needed.
• Notify dispatcher when police presence is required for a shift.
• Prepare and file reports related to arrests, warrants, and criminal offenses, and assist in training new hires.
• Assign offense codes using standardized coding systems and maintain crime data databases.
• Ensure data accuracy and route incomplete reports back for correction.
• Review offense and arrest reports for clarity and accuracy; manage workflow.
• Enter data for national crime reporting statistics.
