Job summary

TJFACT seeks a Senior Police Advisor to support the INL Kinshasa mission, advising on policing reform, mining sector security, and anti-smuggling operations in the DRC. The role involves technical assistance, program planning, and coordination with U.S. and international partners.

Requirements include extensive U.S. law enforcement or military experience, overseas embassy work, and French language proficiency in a French-language environment. Travel and security considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in international relations, law enforcement, public policy or related field.
• Minimum 18 years of experience in U.S. law enforcement or military or equivalent.
• French language capability at 3/3 level per Foreign Service Institute.

Responsibilities

• Assess and advise on Congolese law enforcement institutions and mining sector security.
• Review training facilities and improve academy efficiency in core policing competencies.
• Provide technical assistance to PNC leadership and training directors.
• Coordinate with Embassy RSOs and other agencies to align security programs.
