Job summary

CIRCOR Aerospace seeks an experienced engineer to lead the design and development of pneumatic valve systems for aerospace hardware. You will interpret customer specs and translate them into production-ready drawings, BOMs, and test procedures, collaborating across engineering and manufacturing teams.

The role requires hands-on design work, CAD/CAE proficiency, and strong technical writing. Expect responsibility for prototyping, testing, and delivering robust solutions for high‑reliability

Qualifications

• Requires a BSME degree.
• 12 years minimum in the design and development of pneumatic valves or similar complex mechanical assemblies.
• Experience in design of detail mechanical components/control valves.
• Some project management.
• Technical Writing – Acceptance Test Procedures, Design Reports, Qualification Test Procedure/Reports.
• Hands-On Experience – Assembly, setup and testing, troubleshooting, laboratory testing
• Electrical testing, precision testing using meters.
• Experience with circuit boards is a plus
• GD&T on complex assemblies per latest guidelines.
• SolidWorks CAD knowledge preferred.
• Stress analysis with ANSYS/FEA knowledge preferred
• Manufacturing Practices – Machining, welding, stamping, molding, etc.

Responsibilities

• Creates new designs in accordance with customer requirements and verifies compliance with performance and scope.
• Generates design modifications to meet new customer driven requirements.
• Provides design solutions to manufacturing problems and sustaining business.
• Coordinates and/or prepares production drawings and documentation.
• Reviews, coordinates and/or drafts procedures for hardware development, acceptance and qualification testing.
• Provides technical and supervisory guidance to personnel assigned to the project.
• Directs building of prototypes and development hardware.
• Completes forms and documentation for procurement, fabrication and testing.
• Performs engineering testing/calculations to meet performance and safety margins.
• Prepares information package for internal design reviews.
• Investigates production problems and suggests solutions.
