Job summary

Valcor Engineering, headquartered in Springfield, NJ, is seeking a Senior Engineer, Design - Aircraft, to lead valve design activities for new and modified products. You will work independently with occasional manager oversight, designing prototypes and validating concepts per project plans.

The role collaborates with manufacturing, QA, production, and contractors to drive design iterations, address issues on customer sites, and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree.
• 5+ years engineering experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Independent yet collaborative team player.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks; familiarity with ANSYS, MATLAB and Mathcad.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop prototype models to validate concepts.
• Collaborate with team to validate designs with minimal senior reviews.
• Report progress to Engineering Manager or Project Engineer.
• Work with manufacturing, QA, production, vendors and contractors.
• Review final designs with engineering support groups and implement modifications.
• Assist in resolving manufacturing problems and improve product quality.
• Stay updated on tech developments and apply design improvements.
• Visit customer sites to validate specifications.
• Prepare time reports for projects.
• Attend customer calls with minimal support.
• Experience in end-to-end design process from kick-off to production.
