Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a growing structural steel firm in Indianapolis, Indiana. This in‑office role oversees projects from award to completion, manages budgets and schedules, and mentors the PM team.

Salary ranges $135,000–$175,000 with profit sharing, unlimited PTO, two medical plans, dental plans and vision, 401(k) with company match, a $700/month car allowance, and relocation assistance. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in structural steel and a B.S.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction or engineering experience.
• Strong structural steel experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Proven experience managing multiple complex projects.
• Experience leading project teams.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or similar.
• Valid driver's license for job-site visits.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple steel construction projects simultaneously.
• Develop project execution plans covering scope, schedule and budget.
• Coordinate project requirements across design, fabrication and erection.
• Monitor project performance and proactively address risks, delays and cost impacts.
• Review and approve cost reports, change orders and progress billings.
• Take the lead on the company's most complex projects.
• Manage and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
• Delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability.
• Conduct performance reviews and support team development.
• Act as an escalation point for owners, general contractors, engineers and architects.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Resolve disputes and manage contract compliance issues.
• Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting and cash flow.
• Review and approve change orders and subcontractor agreements.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement.
• Work closely with general contractors, erectors and shop personnel.
