Description

The Senior Program Manager will focus on tool capabilities to solve the problem of disconnected tool development and business needs by serving as the strategic bridge between the Space Capabilities business team and the Product Manager for Space at Whole Foods Market. This leader ensures that the tools we build are grounded in clear business requirements and customer needs rather than developed in isolation.

This PM owns the portfolio of space planning tools, including space allocation models, floor planning and planogram development solutions. By partnering closely with the Macro and Micro Space Planning & Development Senior PMs to gather business context, this role translates planning needs into well-defined use cases for product development and manages tools through stabilization, evolution, and future-state development.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the space tool portfolio across domains and functions

  • Serve as the dedicated bridge between business teams and product development, translating customer needs into clear product requirements

  • Partner with Macro and Micro Space Planning & Development Senior PMs to gather business context and inform tool priorities

  • Manage tools through their full lifecycle: stabilization, evolution, and future-state development

  • Drive tool adoption and performance metrics across internal customers

About the team

The Space Capabilities team is a program management organization that supports Merchants and Floor Planning & Merchandising Presentation in bringing their space strategies to life across Whole Foods Market's physical retail footprint. We do not own the build of every tool, but we own transforming our customers' needs into capabilities by bridging business requirements with product and process development. Organized around three lifecycle domains (Planning & Development, Tool Capabilities, and Execution Process Capabilities), our structure enables us to proactively translate strategy into actionable outcomes with deeper mastery and cleaner handoffs

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • 5+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience

  • 5+ years experience in Space Planning software/tools: BY Space Planning, Apollo Spaceman, NextPOG, RELEX

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Knowledge of general AI tools

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing

  • Experience working cross functionally with non-tech teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
