About Us

CT Mechanical, a division of Comfort Temp Company, is a growing commercial mechanical contractor built on integrity, accountability, and doing quality work the right way. Since 2014, CT Mechanical has provided comprehensive mechanical and plumbing solutions for commercial clients across Florida, with offices in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa.

We specialize in complex commercial construction and building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, pipefitting, sheet metal, equipment installation, and related mechanical systems. Our work supports projects in markets such as healthcare, K-12 education, higher education, government, commercial facilities, and other large-scale construction environments.

At CT Mechanical, we are not looking for someone who simply manages paperwork or reacts to problems as they arise. We are looking for a senior construction leader who understands how plumbing work gets built, how labor and resources are planned, how schedules are protected, how risk is managed, and how project profitability is maintained from turnover through closeout.

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who can take ownership of complex projects, build strong relationships, develop people, and help elevate the performance of the broader plumbing operation.

Job Summary

CT Mechanical is seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Project Manager to lead complex commercial plumbing projects in the Orlando market. This role carries significant responsibility for project strategy, financial performance, planning, execution, client relationships, and overall project success.

The Senior Plumbing Project Manager will serve as a key leader between the field, project team, customers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and CT Mechanical leadership. This individual is expected to understand the full lifecycle of a commercial plumbing project and proactively manage the people, resources, risks, and decisions required to deliver successful outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings strong commercial plumbing expertise, field credibility, financial acumen, and demonstrated leadership experience. They are comfortable making decisions, challenging assumptions, identifying risks before they become problems, and holding themselves and others accountable for results.

This role requires a leader who can manage multiple complex priorities while maintaining a clear focus on safety, schedule, quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

If you are an experienced plumbing construction leader who knows how to build trust with the field, manage job cost, protect project schedules, develop people, navigate difficult situations, and drive results without waiting to be told what to do, this may be the right opportunity for you.

Role and Responsibilities

Own the overall execution and financial performance of assigned commercial plumbing projects from turnover through completion and closeout.

Establish project strategy, priorities, and execution plans in alignment with company objectives and project requirements.

Maintain accountability for project profitability, with a target of achieving a minimum of 10% net profit.

Review project scope, budget, labor plan, schedule, drawings, specifications, contracts, and turnover information to identify opportunities and risks before work begins.

Develop and maintain accurate labor forecasts, manpower plans, and 3-week look-ahead planning to ensure projects remain properly resourced.

Partner closely with field leadership to establish production expectations, resolve obstacles, and ensure the field has the manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and information necessary to perform efficiently.

Monitor project financials, labor performance, production, committed costs, material expenditures, change orders, and schedule impacts throughout the project lifecycle.

Identify financial and operational risks early and develop corrective action plans before they impact project performance.

Lead project planning and coordination efforts involving plumbing, HVAC, pipefitting, sheet metal, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, engineers, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and other key project stakeholders.

Serve as a senior point of contact for significant client concerns, project issues, contract matters, and escalated field challenges.

Negotiate and resolve project issues while protecting CT Mechanical's contractual position, financial interests, and customer relationships.

Review and support change order opportunities, scope clarification, pricing, documentation, negotiations, and recovery strategies.

Ensure project teams maintain accurate and timely project documentation, cost reporting, schedules, and forecasting.

Coordinate with Estimating, Finance, HR, IT, Asset Management, Warehouse, and other internal departments to ensure projects receive the resources and support required for successful execution.

Oversee warehouse coordination, material procurement, deliveries, receiving, material staging, equipment needs, and project-specific inventory requirements.

Follow purchasing procedures and provide strategic oversight of plumbing fabrication, procurement, and material planning.

Anticipate upcoming project needs and proactively coordinate resources rather than relying on reactive problem solving.

Conduct regular jobsite visits to evaluate progress, production, quality, safety, manpower, and overall project health.

Provide clear weekly project metrics and executive-level updates to leadership, including financial position, labor performance, schedule status, risks, opportunities, and action plans.

Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to broader operational planning, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.

Mentor and support Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and other members of the project team.

Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned to strengthen the overall plumbing project management organization.

Help establish and improve project management processes, standards, and accountability across the plumbing operation.

Support the development of field leaders by providing guidance, coaching, and feedback when appropriate.

Assist leadership with manpower forecasting, workload planning, resource allocation, and future project requirements.

Support business development and customer retention efforts by maintaining strong professional relationships and identifying opportunities for future work.

Help protect CT Mechanical's reputation by ensuring projects are delivered safely, professionally, profitably, and to the standard our customers expect.

Support warranty, punch list, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities to ensure projects are completed properly and professionally.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and industry experience considered.

Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, job cost, labor hours, vendors, subcontractors, change orders, and client relationships.

Proven ability to maintain and improve project profitability while balancing schedule, quality, labor, and customer expectations.

Ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, scopes of work, contracts, schedules, and other construction documents.

Strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to understand project financials, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.

Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with field teams, clients, general contractors, executives, vendors, and internal leadership.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and hold others accountable.

Strong problem-solving, planning, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.

Ability to identify project risks early and develop practical strategies to mitigate them.

Ability to manage multiple complex projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.

Demonstrated ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with company leadership and organizational priorities.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.

Alignment with CT Mechanical's core values and long-term vision for the company.

Preferred Experience

Senior-level commercial plumbing project management experience in healthcare, K-12, higher education, government, or large commercial construction.

Experience managing high-value or highly complex commercial plumbing projects.

Experience managing projects involving underground plumbing, sanitary waste and vent, domestic water, storm piping, medical gas, equipment connections, and plumbing rough-in through final inspection.

Experience managing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously.

Experience with labor forecasting, production tracking, earned-value concepts, job costing, schedule management, and financial forecasting.

Experience developing and mentoring Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, or field leadership.

Experience with Procore or similar construction/project management platforms.

Experience working directly with general contractors, owners, inspectors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors at a senior level.

Experience supporting prefabrication, material planning, warehouse coordination, equipment procurement, and project closeout.

Strong understanding of commercial construction contracts, scopes of work, change management, and project risk.

Experience contributing to preconstruction, estimating reviews, project handoff, and project strategy.

Established relationships within the Central Florida commercial construction market.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Senior Plumbing Project Manager at CT Mechanical is a business-minded construction leader who understands that successful projects require more than keeping paperwork organized.

They know where their projects stand financially, understand what is happening in the field, anticipate labor and material needs, recognize risk before it becomes an issue, and know when leadership needs to be involved.

Success means projects are planned strategically, labor is managed intentionally, schedules are protected, change orders are captured, financial performance is understood, clients are informed, and field teams have the support they need to perform.

This person does not wait for a project to fall behind before taking action. They stay ahead of the job, make sound decisions, communicate expectations clearly, and take ownership of outcomes.

At the senior level, success also means making the people around you better. The Senior Plumbing Project Manager should serve as a resource and leader for the broader project team, sharing knowledge, developing talent, improving processes, and helping CT Mechanical raise the standard of project execution across the organization.

Ultimately, this role is successful when CT Mechanical consistently delivers safe, well-managed, profitable projects while building the kind of customer and employee relationships that lead to long-term growth.

Company Culture

At CT Mechanical, our culture is built around excellence, integrity, teamwork, and accountability. Our core values guide how we work, lead, and serve our clients:

Do what you say.
Do what it takes.
Walk with purpose.
Do the right thing.

We believe strong teams are built through clear communication, trust, follow-through, and a willingness to solve problems together. We value leaders who take ownership, support the field, respect the customer, develop the people around them, and care about the quality of the work being delivered.

This is an opportunity to join a company that is growing, investing in its people, and building a stronger future across Florida's commercial mechanical construction market.

For the right leader, this role offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact not only on individual projects, but on the continued growth and development of CT Mechanical's plumbing operation.
