Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a Senior Plumbing Estimator to lead estimating for plumbing and mechanical construction projects. You will evaluate drawings, specs, and requirements to create accurate, competitive cost estimates while identifying risks and value-engineering opportunities.

You will collaborate with preconstruction, management, vendors, and subcontractors to win and execute projects. The role requires 8–12+ years of plumbing/mechanical estimating experience, strong knowledge of HVAC systems,

Qualifications

• Requires 8–12+ years of plumbing/mechanical estimating experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing/HVAC systems, materials, labor productivity, and installation methods.
• Proficiency with estimating software AutoBid and Bluebeam; ability to read mechanical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of plumbing and mechanical cost estimates for commercial/industrial projects.
• Perform detailed material, labor, and equipment takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop conceptual budgets and design-build estimates in early project phases.
• Solicit and review vendor/subcontractor pricing; identify risks and VE opportunities.
• Prepare bid proposals, clarifications, and value engineering options.
