Job summary

O'Connor Plumbing is seeking an In-House Plumbing Instructor to develop the technical knowledge and professional growth of apprentices, technicians, and plumbing professionals. The role blends classroom teaching, field coaching, curriculum development, and skills evaluation to meet company standards and licensing requirements.

The instructor mentors staff, supports safety and quality workmanship, and aligns training with Maryland codes and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Maryland Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred.
• Experience teaching/plumbing instruction and curriculum development.
• Ability to mentor apprentices and technicians to journeyman readiness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and hands-on plumbing instruction.
• Develop and update training curricula and lesson plans.
• Conduct field coaching and ride-alongs with staff.
• Assess apprentice/technician competencies and document progress.
• Teach OSHA safety practices and PPE requirements.
• Coordinate with supervisors on apprentice development and licensing prep.
