Job summary

Power Design is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer I to lead the design, coordination, and development of plumbing systems for large-scale projects from our St. Petersburg, FL headquarters.

You will deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs that balance innovation and constructability, guiding project teams across disciplines. Responsibilities include leading documentation, mentoring junior staff, ensuring IPC/NFPA/ASPE compliance, and coordinating with architects and engineers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of plumbing design experience in commercial, multifamily, or mixed-use projects.
• Advanced knowledge of plumbing design principles, system sizing, and building codes.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam; experience with Autodesk or similar project management software preferred.
• ASPE certification or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design and documentation of plumbing systems for projects.
• Provide direction and mentorship to junior designers and engineers.
• Ensure code compliance with IPC, NFPA, and ASPE guidelines.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and electrical teams for integration.
• Prepare drawings, schematics, specs, and calculation packages in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Conduct technical reviews and quality control checks throughout design phases.
• Lead system sizing, pressure loss, and flow calculations for performance.
• Support estimating with accurate system data and cost evaluations.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring schedules and client expectations.
• Drive innovation in plumbing design workflows and participate in client meetings.
