- M/E Engineering is currently interviewing for a Senior Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer in our Rochester, NY office. We are a full-service MEP engineering firm providing design and technology services to our clients. Responsibilities
- Possesses a professional attitude showing interest in M/E's reputation and growth.
- Is a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of their assignment.
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, adoption, and modification of standard techniques and procedures.
- Works with the Principal, Associate, or Project Manager to finalize project scope and schedule of deliverables, understanding priorities.
- Applies advanced practices and techniques, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies, and follows projects through all phases including program, schematic, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction.
- Supervises, coordinates, and reviews work, schedules, and assigns tasks to meet completion dates.
- Develops reports, studies, and system analyses.
- Works efficiently and makes sound decisions.
- Evaluates applications of substitute equipment.
- Reviews final adjustments of equipment and systems after installation.
- Communicates directly with clients on non-controversial matters.
- Represents the firm at meetings and covers all trades, with follow-up as needed.
- Works with other engineers and designers on projects.
- Estimates workforce needs, schedules, assigns work, and updates the project manager on status and resources.
- Mentors and trains junior engineers and designers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Preferably holds a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or is an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward P.E. licensing.
- Possesses a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.
- Has at least eight years of responsible project design experience in the respective discipline, plus additional courses, training, or seminars related to Engineering and Management.
Compensation Range
- The salary range for this position is $87,360 to $120,000 per year.
