Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is expanding its Southern California plumbing group with a Senior Plumbing Engineer in Irvine. You will lead plumbing design from schematic through construction, mentor junior staff, and contribute to BD opportunities. The role requires strong communication, Revit proficiency, and a PE license, with a hybrid work model two days/week in LA or Irvine.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside within commutable distance to Irvine or Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in consulting, construction, or similar.
• Valid PE license.
• Proficient in Revit (BIM).
• Strong plumbing design experience across healthcare, commercial, multifamily, and/or manufacturing.
• Located within commutable distance of Glumac's Los Angeles or Irvine offices.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing designs and prepare construction documents.
• Perform plumbing calculations including fixture counts, booster pump head, ejector pump head, domestic hot water loads (incl. heat pump design), storm water, condensate collection, fuel oil venting etc.
• Coordinate with ownership, mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams.
• Support Construction Administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site visits, and field reports.
• Adhere to QA/QC policies and elevate issues as needed.
• Mentor junior engineers/designers and help grow the local plumbing team.
• Assist with Business Development opportunities when needed.
