Job summary

Wight & Company is seeking a Plumbing Designer to join our growing MEP Engineering team in Chicago, IL. This role collaborates with senior engineers to deliver high-quality projects across schematic design through construction administration.

The ideal candidate has 4–8 years of plumbing design experience, an associate/technical degree, and, preferably, LEED or other sustainable building certification. Excellent communication and attention to code compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate/Technical degree required.
• 4–8 years of plumbing design experience.
• LEED or other sustainable building certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, design, and system selection for plumbing in building projects.
• Ensure design conformance with codes and sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and other disciplines.
• Prepare design documentation, BIM models, drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate permitting and regulatory submittals with authorities.
• Support construction phase activities and site observations.
• Mentor junior team members.
