Job summary

Schmidt Associates, Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Designer/Engineer to join our MEP team in Indianapolis, IN. The role emphasizes accurate design of domestic water, sanitary, vent, and related systems, aligned with industry standards and project schedules.

The candidate should have 5–10 years of plumbing design experience, a B.S. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, and preferably a PE license or CPD. BIM/Revit experience is highly valued for seamless integration with the firm’s facility design

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of plumbing design experience.
• PE license or CPD preferred.
• Experience with educational, healthcare, government, or commercial facilities is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Design and document plumbing systems for educational and related facilities.
• Prepare shop drawings, project submittals, and data for assigned projects.
• Coordinate with BIM technicians and other trades for integration.
• Assist in site surveys and field observations as needed.
