Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Nashville is seeking a Senior Plumbing Designer to join our team. You will work on multidisciplinary projects using REVIT, leading mechanical design for healthcare facilities including hospitals and ambulatory centers, and coordinating with architects and owners throughout concept to construction.

The role requires design expertise, load calculations, and proficient model creation in REVIT, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute to project success.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction.
• Lead mechanical design for healthcare facilities (hospitals, EDs, ambulatory centers).
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and piping/duct design.
• Create 3D REVIT models including families, schedules, and layouts.
• Review submittals for project compliance.
• Conduct project due diligence and field construction administration visits.
• Prepare technical reports, assessments, and specifications.
• Coach and support junior engineers in technical skills.

Job Summary

ICT’s Nashville office is looking for a Senior Plumbing Designer to join the team! This role would work on multidisciplinary projects using REVIT.

General Duties

• Manage multidisciplinary projects from concept through construction, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
• Deal directly with clients/owners to determine specific project needs.
• Lead mechanical design for healthcare facilities including hospitals, free standing emergency departments, ambulatory surgery centers and medical office buildings.
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, powerhouse, mechanical room, instrumentation, controls, energy management, ductwork and piping design.
• Utilize Revit to create 3D models including families, schedules and system layouts.
• Be familiar with and apply applicable codes and owner guidelines.
• Review project submittals ensuring project compliance.
• Conduct project due diligence and construction administration trips.
• Prepare technical reports, project assessments and project specifications.
• Coach and support new engineers in developing technical and professional skills.

Skills

• Understanding and experience using REVIT to produce building construction documents
• Capable of increasing technical competency with experience and work ethic.
• Ability to effectively communicate with architects, owners, and contractors.
• Knowledge of building codes including ASHRAE, NFPA 99, and Tennessee Building Codes.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of plumbing and mechanical engineering principles in the field of building construction.
• Experience in the design of commercial, educational, and manufacturing building design
