Job summary

Salas O’Brien in Baton Rouge or remote is seeking a Plumbing Engineer/Designer to design plumbing systems for high-rise, hospitality, K-12, and commercial projects. You will produce Revit drawings, perform pipe sizing and code compliance checks, and coordinate with MEFP teams to deliver deliverables.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in plumbing design, a solid understanding of IPC/UPC, and experience across healthcare, education, or commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for design and specifications.
• Proficiency in Revit for design drawings and documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with architects, engineers and contractors.
• 3+ years of experience in plumbing design and construction.
• Familiarity with IPC/UPC plumbing codes and water/energy efficiency standards.

Job Summary

The Plumbing Engineer/Designer serves to design plumbing systems for buildings such as high-rise buildings, Hospitality projects, K-12 schools, retail/mixed-use spaces, and commercial spaces.

In This Role, You Will

• Design domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, natural gas, and medical gas systems for various facility types
• Produce plumbing design drawings using Revit software
• Conduct field investigations to assess existing conditions and gather project data
• Ensure quality control, scheduling, and delivery of plumbing design documents
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams
• Perform pipe sizing, pressure loss calculations, equipment selection, and code compliance analysis

You Will Be a Great Fit If

• You have demonstrated experience coordinating design with multiple disciplines and stakeholders
• You have 3+ years of experience in plumbing design and construction
• You have a solid understanding of plumbing systems layout, fixture selection, and equipment specifications
• You are comfortable performing flow calculations, pipe routing, and fixture unit counts
• You are familiar with applicable plumbing codes (IPC, UPC), accessibility guidelines, and water/energy efficiency standards
• You have experience working on healthcare, education, hospitality, or commercial projects
