Job summary

South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking a Plumbing Maintenance Supervisor to lead the facility plumbing program, supervise emergency maintenance operations, and oversee installation and upkeep of plumbing and sewage systems across sites.

The role requires on-call rotation, ability to diagram take-offs, and coordination of material requisitions, with four weeks of basic training provided after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems.
• Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
• Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct, and work with other people.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, control, supervise, administer and complete facility plumbing maintenance and repair program.
• Responsible for program and supervision of emergency plumbing maintenance and repair operations.
• Install, operate and maintain plumbing and sewage disposal system.
• Diagram and make take-offs.
• Requisition material and parts needed.
• Position requires on-call rotation and/or 24-hour emergency repair.
