Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools is seeking a Plumber to install and repair plumbing fixtures and systems in accordance with regulations and safety standards. Responsibilities include working from plans, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating with other trades to ensure a well-staffed job site.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3 years of related work experience, and backflow certification within one year of employment. On-site work during normal hours is required.

Qualifications

• Must obtain backflow certification within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures and systems including toilets, sinks, drains, gas/water lines, dishwashers, water coolers and water heaters.
• Routes and cuts openings to fit equipment and ease maintenance.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on water supply, irrigation and sewage systems.
• Certifies backflow devices and installs as required by code.
• Works from building plans, blueprints and sketches to plan routing and placement.
• Coordinates with other trades and ensures a properly staffed job site.
• Maintains prompt, regular on-site attendance during business hours.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administrator.
