Job summary

Mantis Innovation in Umatilla, OR is seeking a Building Controls Technician II/III to install, commission, and troubleshoot PLC/Ignition based control systems in data center environments.

You will work independently in the field, scheduling and delivering commissioning and startup tasks, while guiding junior technicians and ensuring project quality. A local presence in the region helps reduce travel and supports long-term operations.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with PLC systems.
• Experience with Ignition environments or equivalent.
• Proven ability to independently commission, startup, and troubleshoot in live data center settings.
• Willingness to be located within driving distance of Umatilla, OR.
• Valid driver's license and travel readiness for field work.

Responsibilities

• Execute installation, commissioning, and startup of PLC/Ignition based control systems in data centers.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware/software/network issues in live environments.
• Perform point-to-point checkouts, calibration, and full system validation independently.
• Deliver project scope on schedule with quality requirements and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to keep work on track.
• Own service and troubleshooting post-commissioning; mentor junior technicians.
