Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an engineering professional to design, develop, and support PLC-based control systems for AWS data center infrastructure. You will work on CODESYS-based software and collaborate with Controls Design and Field Engineering teams to ensure reliable operation across diverse site types.

The role involves on-site travel for first-of-kind builds, triage, and continuous improvement of control standards. Strong PLC and Linux/Unix experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 4+ years of systems development in an IT or data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mechanical control systems software on the CODESYS PLC platform for AWS data center infrastructure.
• Develop and refine control logic, function blocks, and SOO to meet performance and reliability across varied site types and equipment vendors.
• Perform triage, root-cause analysis, and remediation of control system issues.
• Support first-of-kind builds including on-site travel to provide real-time break/fix support.
