Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Building Automation Programmer – PLC & Industrial Controls to lead PLC-based automation projects for mission-critical facilities. You will develop, test, and optimize control logic, PLC programs, HMI/SCADA visualizations, and integration with design teams across remote and on-site environments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience programming commercial building automation, HVAC, or industrial control systems using PLC-based control strategies.
• Solid knowledge of Siemens PLC programming, especially S7-1200/1500 platforms and Siemens TIA Portal.
• 5+ years of experience with IEC 61131-3 ladder logic.
• 5+ years of experience with Siemens or third-party PLC platforms, control logic development, and system integration.
• Electro-mechanical aptitude to read design drawings and control schematics.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Program large, complex PLC-based projects.
• Develop PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Design, configure, and support HMI/SCADA visualizations.
• Provide post-sale labor estimating.
• Test PLC programs prior to release.
• Create functional testing and commissioning documents.
• Support commissioning, start-up, optimization, troubleshooting.
• Document PLC software solutions and configurations.
• Coordinate data into graphics with the Design Team.
• Collaborate to identify specification discrepancies.
• Work independently and remotely with the team.
• Mentor and train team members.
• Travel up to 25%.
