Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in California is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer to design, develop, and debug high-performance networking and security software across OS subsystems and embedded platforms.

Hybrid work model with an expectation to work from an HPE office about 2 days per week. The candidate should have a strong background in C/C++, Python, and network hardware, including multi-core embedded platforms.

Qualifications

• Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems.
• 5–8 years of experience in networking, embedded systems, or high-performance security platforms.

Responsibilities

• Designs enhancements for networking system software including OS and security functions.
• Maintains network interfaces, protocols, and underlying drivers for high performance and scalability.
• Analyzes design requirements, defines coding tasks, and participates in architectural reviews.
• Executes test plans, verification protocols, and documentation; debugs issues and proposes improvements.
• Collaborates with hardware, QA, system test, and customer teams to deliver robust software.
• Investigates complex field issues through log-driven debugging and system analysis.
• Supports sustaining engineering and enhancement of existing features.
