Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Sr Software Engineer for its Instrument Software team in the United States. You will develop and integrate platform services for secure data transfer, storage, and management of sequencing data across hardware systems.

The role requires 5+ years in software development, strong C#/.NET Core experience, and familiarity with Go, Linux, REST APIs, microservices, and robust testing/CI/CD practices. You will collaborate across teams to ensure resiliency and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
• Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience designing fault‑tolerant distributed or multi‑process systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and debug platform software components for secure transfer, storage, and management of sequencing data.
• Contribute to CI/CD build pipelines, test environments, and automation infrastructure.
• Collaborate with multiple software teams to understand development needs and drive changes.
• Drive innovation at component and sub‑system level and contribute to software roadmapping.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical problems within the department.
