The Senior Developer plays a key role by bringing technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of TU products. The engineer in this role will build software that expands existing product features or creates new functionalities for our customers.

We seek engineers who thrive on learning new technologies, are self-motivated, and highly engaged. Strong programming and software design skills are essential, along with troubleshooting complex technical issues.

This is a remote position for candidates in Costa Rica, with occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at management's discretion.

What You'll Bring:

• Work with an agile team to develop, test, and maintain cloud and desktop business applications.
• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale solutions supporting business strategies and goals.
• Review requirements and data models, translating them into applications and architecture.
• Ensure designs comply with specifications.
• Guide and support team members through code reviews and pair programming.
• Adhere to best practices in code and repository management.
• Identify and resolve complex issues across multiple technology components.
• Write well-defined, testable, and unit-tested code.
• Support deployment in multi-environment configurations.
• Investigate and present technological improvements.
• Collaborate with System Architects for seamless integration of third-party engines.
• Resolve technical issues and innovate to improve scalability and performance.
• Communicate openly and collaborate across functions.
• Participate in architecture discussions to ensure operational excellence and KPI compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or STEM field preferred; relevant experience or ongoing studies accepted.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in English (speaking, writing, reading).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to mentor, review code, and participate in Scrum teams.
• Strong knowledge of Java (4+ years), Scala, JavaScript.
• Skills in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with Java frameworks like Spring Boot, REST.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with web frameworks like Vue, React, or Angular.
• Proven track record in software design and development across multiple domains.
• Excellent front-end development skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Automated Testing, and Configuration Management.
• Experience with large-scale data processing systems like Hadoop, MapReduce, or Spark.
• Cloud Architect or Cloud Engineer certification is a plus.
