Job summary

VulnCheck Inc. is hiring a Senior Security Engineer in the US to partner with engineering on platform security, design reviews, threat modeling, and secure-by-default patterns.

You will harden IaC across cloud environments and drive stronger identity patterns with least-privilege IAM. The role emphasizes building tools and automation to scale security, enabling self-service security checks for engineers, and supporting a SOC 2 program.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering with depth in cloud security
• AWS security and IaC (Terraform/Terragrunt)
• Kubernetes/EKS security practices including RBAC and network policies
• Strong written communication and collaboration with engineers
• Proven track record of building tools/automation for security at scale
• Experience with CrowdStrike, Wiz, Security Hub
• Proficiency in Golang and incident response workflows
• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar programs
• Knowledge of Google Workspace as identity source
• Self-directed and capable of owning problems end-to-end

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering on platform security, architecture reviews, threat modeling
• Harden IaC across cloud environments (EKS, Aurora, OpenSearch, S3, IAM)
• Drive least-privilege IAM patterns across the platform
• Develop automation to turn detection, response, and compliance into repeatable processes
• Expand onboarding/offboarding automation, alert triage, and identity anomaly detection
• Build internal tools for engineers to assess security posture
• Respond to incidents and perform RCA tracking
